10% neutral buffered formalin

The cap is pre-filled with 10% neutral buffered formalin and sealed with a resistant membrane. It is simple to use: open the container and remove the safety ring, then insert the sample into the empty cup without coming into contact with formaldehyde—neither vapor nor liquid. Once the sample is placed, position the perforator and close the cap. When the container is sealed, the membrane will break, releasing the formalin required for proper sample fixation. The airtight closure, which prevents contact with both formalin vapors and liquid, is ensured by an O-ring integrated into the cap.

1. Put on protective gloves and take a SecurBiop^® 60ml container, keeping it in the position placed in the tray.
2. Prepare both the container and the perforator.
3. Open the container and carefully place the biopsy sample into the cup.
4. Insert the perforator correctly into the internal guiding tracks.
5. Ensure the perforator is properly positioned as shown in the reference image.
6. Remove the safety ring and screw the cap fully onto the container until tight.
7. Tilt the container at approximately 45° to facilitate the release of the formalin.
8. Apply the label with the patient’s information. Send the container to the laboratory, ensuring it remains in an upright position during transport.
